Description

This route is listed as a TOP ROPE ROUTE in the KELLEY guide

I recommend starting on Drive On (5.8) and traversing slightly cliff left after pulling the boulder start. It definitely adds more pump to this already pumpy TOP ROPE ROUTE. stay low as you traverse right on the horizontal that leads to back Drive On. Finish out on Drive On.

Great training route after leading Drive On.

Location

Climb 'Drive On' to set up a top rope on this route.

This route is on the far left of CAR WALL halfway up the gully.

Protection

Listed as 'TR' (Top Rope) in the Thomas Kelley guide.

Natural anchor.

Eddy,
You are right that tone is hard to interpret on these internet posts. I purposefully try to write my comments in such a way as to leave out any sarcasm or condescension. Please don't take my suggestion above as anything other than that, a suggestion. It is not meant to impugn your effort. Simply a suggestion to call (if feasible) some of the old-timers to verify FA history before taking the step of renaming an older line. Wes Love, Gary Mims, Sean Cobourn, et al. should be able to provide a little more insight on the history of this line. I contacted Wes myself to ask about his recollections on this line, but I didn't want you to think I was undermining your work so instead I just posted that you should consider asking some old-timers first. Unfortunatly, I don't have any old timers numbers to call and question. This website, old climbing guides, word of mouth are the only means for me to find out information on theses routes that have been long in need of updating. I was under the impression that it was still a TOP ROPE route. I am also under the impression that this website is a means to 'dig a little deeper'.

I have been updating these routes as I 'fire them off' and all along the way I feel like you've been quick to delete my content, overlook my dedication, and disregard my hard work on trying to 'dig a little deeper'. It wouldn't bother me as much other than I am under the impression that we are friends. I know you have my number and you could call me to let me know some of your concerns. Instead, (in my opinion) you choose to scrutinize me online.

Just so you know, when I do to talk to people who have been around they usually don't remember details, dates, or in some instances even where routes they themselves had put up are located.

As to my content, I ask respectfully that you perhaps take into condsideration that I have been putting forth the time and effort to 'dig a little deeper'.

When you deleted a chunk of the content I contributed and merged the duplicate data, you didn't even bother to see that some of my contributions were made before other persons. You still chose to delete my content and not theirs. Maybe it's just me but I feel that you sometimes come off as a little harsh when critizing my effort.

I do appreciate the feedback. I'm just letting you know how I feel you are coming off. If I'm wrong and it is just me, then blame it on the fact that it is hard to distinguish 'tone' when communticating over text/internet.

Respectfully,
Eddy Aug 14, 2012

You're gonna have to dig a little deeper on this one before you decide to rename it Eddy. I suggest calling some of the old timers. I'm pretty sure they will recall Doug Reed firing off this line way back in the 80s. Aug 10, 2012

I led this route on August 9th 2012 and re-dubbed it Fix-A-Flat. Well protected but super pumpy and technical. Aug 10, 2012
