Target Practice

N Carolina > 3. Piedmont Region > Crowders Mountain > Main Climbing A… > 06. Red Wall

Description

Start in the obvious crack next to Opinionated. Follow it until it disappears (mental crux)for a moment and then reappears. There is a nice ledge to set up a top-rope with gear on a nice horizontal crack. Or you can climb it to the top and have your partner follow.

Location

Obvious crack next to Opinionated. If you don't want walk off. I recommend rapping off Opinionated. Above the ledge I mentioned there is a tree that has been slung. I was under the impression that we weren't allowed to use trees at Crowders.

Protection

Takes small to medium gear. Not a lot of traffic on this route so be wary of loose holds. Natural anchor or top out and have your partner follow and clean. You can traverse over to the Opinionated anchors if no one is on that route.

[Hide Comment] Loose rocks and sketchy pro. Stay off this POS. At least five rocks came off in one afternoon. 60m rope just long enough to tree anchor Mar 9, 2013
