Remember to fill out a wilderness permit, even if climbing for the day! Details

Description

Start from a hanging flake on the right, move left into a horizontal crack/flake and then gun for the top where a mantle finishes things off.

The real crux of this is at the start as you struggle to keep your feet up and off the huge block the boulder itself is resting upon.

  • Listed in the Tram Bouldering Guide as #82, Unnamed.

Location

East face of the boulder.

Protection

Pad, a spotter is nice as the landing is uneven

Once you have climbed a problem you do have something to do with it.

If there is no recorded name I don't see the problem with giving it one. That's hardly unethical, nor does it undermine this site. The routes database is king, however the community represented by all who log in to this site is also important. Putting forth a name allows for debate, which is healthy, and if the original name comes forth from that debate great the database will be better for it. Sep 11, 2011

What then is the name of the problem? Sep 11, 2011

Noone hates unnamed problems more than me, and Chris IS the man, but I think that naming a problem that you have nothing to do with is unethical. Sep 11, 2011

I fail to see how you can assume that! The FA entry is empty, Chris has stated the fact that the problem is listed in the current guide with its number and the fact it has no name.

I see no harm in giving problems names if they don't have one listed in the latest guide. If you know the name it was given 15 years ago, give it up and I am sure Chris will amend the entry. Sep 10, 2011

Chris, I have to assume that you are claiming the FA for every problem that you name. This problem was established at least 15 years ago! Sep 10, 2011
