Description

Pure, powerful, beautiful, The Coffee Cup is an elegant hard problem.
Begin on the lowest rail, and work through just three powerful moves on awesome sloping edges. Finish on jugs!

I haven't climbed enough at this level to be sure of the grade, and I think that short power problems can be the hardest to grade anyway. I've heard v10 from a number of sources, and v9 from others. Probably it depends on your morphology.

Location

This is among the furthest climbs from the parking lot at Forestland. Hike through Lower Forestland, to Upper, past The Ruminator and Kobe Tai. Look for a sloping rail that can be reached from the ground, and a couple of crimps higher on the face.

Protection

Three or four pads, and a spotter so you don't have a brain-plosion when you miss the last move, and land slamming your head into the boulder behind the landing zone.

F.A. was Ben Shrope circa 2002 I believe. Don't know where Ben is these days but he was a serious crusher back in the day.... Dec 28, 2013
