Nordwestkante

5.5, Trad, 35 ft (11 m),  Avg: 3 from 1 vote
FA: Unknown, pre-1960
International > Europe > Germany > Frankenjura > Haselstauden &… > Kleiner Mönch

Description

Climb up the crack making use of other possible holds to reach a good stance about 20 or 25 feet up. If you could, it may have been a good idea to place some protection in the crack at some point up to here. At this point, if you move right you can reach a bolt. Climb to the right past it and to the top.
The name means Northwest Arete.

Location

With your back to Nonne and facing Kleiner Mönch, head to the left side of the formation to the arete on the back side. There is a crack back there next to the arete.

Protection

1 bolt and anchor

Unfortunately, the beginning isn't depicted very well in this picture, but a storm was setting in and I didn't have time for another one.
