Right of the Tree

5.8+ V0-, Boulder, 10 ft (3 m),  Avg: 1.6 from 19 votes
FA: unknown
California > San Diego County > N San Diego County > Mt Woodson > Hamburger Crack Area

Description

This is the right arete of the rock. Looks like it was blatsted when they put the road in. Holds are a little rough and there is a blast hole on top. Maybe the easiest way off the boulder...

Location

Climb right off the pavement. This is the boulder on the left side of the road just after the classic Hamburger Crack. Just a little way downhill from the Poison Oak area. Same boulder as Left of the Tree.

Protection

maybe 1 pad. Crux for me was getting down. The ground under the back of the boulder was pretty eroded. You have to make a hard move to ease over the edge, or jump (sketchy).

[Hide Comment] The crux is at the beginning of the problem. Good hands, but hard moves for people with a shorter reach. Also the walk off is more of a jump off. Spot your landing because there is a steep slope that goes under the boulder. Follow the trail south where you'll have to duck under some brush. You'll come out between Hamburger Crack and Left of the Tree. Apr 21, 2012
