Night-Flying Woman

5.11a, Sport, 40 ft (12 m),  Avg: 3.1 from 78 votes
FA: Ellen Bechtel
Wyoming > Lander Area > Wild Iris > Aspen Glade > Aspen Glade

Description

This fun moderate offers excellent jugs on an overhanging, black-streaked wall. Expect some big reaches between big holds clearing the bulge.

Begin easily up the gully, then follow a flake to a blank white wall. Make a thin move to reach the first jug, then huge reaches and perhaps a dyno or two find a big tiered jug. From here, more pumpy jugs lead to the anchor.

Location

The furthest left line on the Aspen Glade Wall proper, climbing a steep black streak. Shares a start with an 11d before moving left.

Protection

~5 bolts to 2BA.

[Hide Comment] This route is quite fun, on mostly high quality rock. However, the distance between bolts 2 and 3 is quite concerning given the dynamic nature (if shorter) of the move and the slab behind. Send your tallest/strongest climber up first to hang an extra long draw on the third bolt so you can clip before making the first very committing moves of the crux. Would benefit from an additional bolt between the current two and three. Sep 9, 2019

[Hide Comment] One of if not the best 11a's in the Lander area. Nice and steep with great movement on mostly hero buckets. Not sure what Kyle is talking about in regards to a runout, but if you want, it would be very easier to carry a stickclip up the ramp at the beginning at hang that draw. Aug 21, 2023
