Description [Edit]

Stand start on low crimps. A couple hard lock offs lead to good holds and an easy mantle.

Location [Edit]

Take trail on left past "kill by numbers" and you will see it. It's the obvious streaked wall you see from the road.

Protection [Edit]

Crash pad.

Can someone clarify where it starts? There are two low crimp rails. My buddy and I started on the lowest with a right foot heel hooking the right ledge. This way seemed almost v8/v9. (No send, btw).

Does it start at the left hand gaston and a higher right hand? We saw video beta that seems to point to this, but there was a ton of chalk down low. Oct 19, 2014

Alvin-- Since no one else has responded, my understanding is that yes, it starts as you described. In my opinion, starting this way keeps it accurate at the grade. Starting on the lowest crimp rail is, as you stated, a lot harder than v6. There's often chalk on all of the holds because people try starting in a couple different places until they settle on the same holds that you did. But, the exact starting holds have never been described anywhere, including in the 'Black Bible', where the problem is mentioned but not truly described. Hope that helps. Oct 22, 2014

This problem should definitely start on the low crimps with the heel, and done that way felt like V7 or, if you're short, V70 Mar 26, 2016

I'm pretty sure this is a Boone Speed problem, and they always feel hard for the grade to me...that could explain it as well. I also found the low start to be quite a bit above my level (I often flash V6 at Joe's) Mar 26, 2016
Does anyone who has finished the low start of this have comments on the grade? Feb 13, 2018

Allegedly one of the crimps broke recently. I just sent from the two lowest crimps and it felt around V7 or V8. Good conditions help Apr 12, 2018
