Access Issue: BLM Managed Lands at Castle Rocks PERMANENTLY CLOSED TO CLIMBING!! Castle Rocks State Park lands are OPEN TO CLIMBING Details

A nice kids' route, or, a fun lead for folks just breaking into lead climbing.

The route is fairly low angle with maybe not as many big hand holds for the uninitiated-to-friction climber. Very good foot holds in low angle divots.

High hand hold might be tough to grab for folks just getting past the first bolt, but, a mantle off the low rail edge, with good feet position, and, you're off to the races.

Located on the south and east side of Kid Rock.

Locate a prow/point of rock just right of a short shelved boulder at the base. First bolt will be just over the lip above the boulder's right side.

Rappel/lower off route.

7 lead bolts give way to a fixed two bolt anchor with chain.

Fun little slab climb for a first lead, and a great warm up for friction climbs in Castle Rocks and City of Rocks. Oct 21, 2018
