Access Issue: In critical habitat area for the Desert Tortoise Details

Climb the low angle slab, sharing the start with Rending of Garments, 5.10a. At the point where the wall gets steeper and the bolt lines split, take the right route up into the orange rock.

Start at the base of a gray slabby buttress to the right of Czech Frogs Say Qua. Furthest climb to the right at the main section of Kelly's before heading up to the cave.

7 bolts, Metolius Shuts.

Be aware, a fall at bolt #7 (last clip before the anchors) could result in hitting the slab below. Apr 10, 2013

Near bolt six there is a section of rock which is pretty fractured and hollow sounding. Initially looking to avoid it but ultimately used it not only for my hands but stood on it too. It's not grand and something your belayer should have an exit plan for should it go (dirt is not mortar). My partner avoided all together, opting for a a virgin area left of the bolt line leading to the anchor vs. the right side arete/right of bolt exit. YMMV. Oct 1, 2017

Kind of a stinker with the potentially loose block up high. Climbing left of the top bolt to the anchors is solid and no worse of a fall than the original line. Oct 2, 2017
