Colorado > Grand Junction… > Colorado Nation… > Gold Star Canyon

Description

The start is a good foot with a slopey edge from which you can clip the first draw. From there, it slopers and clips. The crux is under the third bolt. It's a finger lock crimp on the left hand and a burly pinch on the right up to a slopey edge.

Location

Follow the trail up the canyon to first ridge, follow trail the left, and it leads right to the base.

Protection

4 quickdraws.

[Hide Comment] If this area is in the Monument, any bolting needs to be authorized. If this bolting was not authorized, the situation needs to be remedied pronto. May 13, 2011

[Hide Comment] It is hard to discern where this actually is. As has been pointed out by many, bolting is strictly prohibited unless for the repair/ safety of an existing route. I remember there being a short sport climb in the granite of Gold Star Canyon that has been there a while. I hope that this was put up before '92. May 14, 2011
