Ventenata dubia (north Africa grass) was identified at and around Lava Point last fall. So far, this is the only documented site on the entire 4.2 million acres of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest with this invasive species.

Stay on the trails and be sure to clean your shoes/equipment when you leave .

Description

Very tricky starting sequence between the first and second bolts and a mantle on slopers yields to much easier, enjoyable climbing above.

Location

Just left of Long Strange Clip. A variation exists on the left to meet at the 3rd bolt, which goes at 5.10b.

I added a bolt to this route with the Andy's permission on 4/11/20. lavaland can now be climbed safely from the ground up, and without a stick clip. Apr 12, 2020
