Description

This route climbes the face right of Barfy's Favorite. Listed as 5.7R in the NC3 Poudre Canyon Guide, I personally feel it's solid 5.8. The run-outs are a little heady, but you do get good gear in a few prominent horizontal cracks that cut across the face. Aim for the obvious round flake above and pull onto easier ground shared with Barfy's Favorite. Tread lightly above the last horizontal - the rock is a little suspect, especially higher up.

Continue for two pitches on Barfy's Favorite or Judy's Jaunt.

Location

The face immediately right of the splitter hand crack called Barfy's Favorite.

Protection

Standard Greyrock rack to 2 inches. Tricams may be useful for use in the shallow, horizontal cracks.

Extra small gear and tricams definitely prove useful on the crux run out pitch. Sep 8, 2015

This is a serious pitch with insecure climbing on suspect rock well above your gear. Still, it's an adventurous outting and worth a star. Mar 10, 2011
