Access Issue: Seasonal Raptor Closures Details

Description

Worth doing, despite the R rating. Typical Pinnacles potentially lethal runout on easy but friable rock to anchors. Three bolts and some medium cams lead up a face with small ledges. Finishes on The Verdict anchors.

Protection

Given the ledges on the route the possibility for injury is a real possibility. However, the crux is well protected and the only place of concern is above the last bolt (after the crux) while placing some gear in a flake from good holds. Three bolts and a couple medium cams to mussy hook anchors.

If someone either prehangs the draw for the 3rd bolt, (or were to leave a permadraw), this would be reasonable. Kind of lame wasting a 10d runout line at a beginner/intermediate sport crag. Nov 21, 2017
