Description Suggest change

An awesome, burly, wide hands crack. The smaller-handed will surely suffer on this one.

Listed as 5.10d in the Frye guide, this crack cuts through rock oddly solid and polished for the area.

Excellent problem even if it is rarely done.

Location Suggest change

Head directly downhill from the Turtle dome.

Pass the Baghouse boulder (look for the large boulder split by a wide black crack) on your right.

Turn right (northeast) and walk another 25' - The Half Moon crack is located in a recess on the northwest face of a tall clump of boulders (known as the Half Moon boulders).

The crack curves to the left and ends on a ledge 15+ feet up.

Protection Suggest change

Pads, tape, big hands.
