CA State Parks officially reopened Big Rock to public access April 28th, 2018. After months of effort 53 anchors and 232 bolts have been upgraded to 1/2" X 2.75" stainless steel Powers 5-piece bolts and rings.
Description
"Drain Pipe" (aka Donatello) ascends the polished water groove/seam at the far right (south) end of the Main Slab. Pull over the overlap on sharp edges and polished foot holds. Once established above the overlap continue pulling on sharp, but positive edges past 4 bolts up and across a vegetated water chute to the anchors on the upper slab.
Location
Located at the far right (south) end of the Main Slab. 50' right of the Headwall. Hidden from view, as the right end of the slab curves inward to form a small alcove. Look for the obvious overlap at head height.
