Trample Me Elmo

M5, Mixed, 40 ft (12 m),  Avg: 2.3 from 24 votes
FA: Richard Harrison
Utah > Wasatch Range > Southern Wasatch > Provo Canyon > Provo Canyon Ice > Stairway to Heaven > Meat Your Maker Wall

Description

There's a bolted route to the left of the first pitch (the Apron) of Stairway to Heaven. This could be ice, rock or mixed depending on conditions. It's probably 5.9/5.10 if rock and WI3 if ice ever forms there. Like the rest of Provo Canyon, the rock quality is abysmal. Tread lightly on those nubs with your crampons...

Protection

Four bolts, chain anchors (possibly suspect)

[Hide Comment] Short route, but worth doing. Fully bolted sport route, though it can be hard to see the bolts from the ground at times.

There is another bolted mixed line to the right of this route, closer to the regularly forming ice routes. Oct 3, 2013
