Catch 22

5.12a, Sport, 70 ft (21 m),  Avg: 2.4 from 9 votes
FA: Louie Anderson
California > Inland Empire > Riverside Area > Riverside Quarry > (d) Roof Area

Description

Three bolts of easy (5.9) climbing lead to a more strenous middle section on smaller (hard to see) holds. The crux starts just below the large bulge, and is very bouldery. The last move of the crux is a long throw to a very small two or three finger crimp. The top of the route is insecure slab with holds that are hard to see.

Location

This route is at the far right end of the roof. Three routes right of Delirious.

[Hide Comment] Intriguing climbing with a brief crux that may be height dependent. There are some loose holds at the crux and on the finishing slab moves above. May 16, 2014

[Hide Comment] Pretty fun route, short crux pulling the bulge. Maybe a bit soft if you're tall enough to do it with low feet. Slab on top is scary because a crucial glued hold is flexing and the last bolt is below your feet. Jan 2, 2019

[Hide Comment] RP on Jan 1 with Nathaneal. Im about 5'6, I don't think its height dependent, just need to pull a little harder with a high right foot. If you're 6ft or taller you can pretty much stem the crux and make it even easier with low feet. Feb 1, 2019
