Start on a ledge up above the desert floor in front of some stacked blocks. Climb up cracks in the blocks (crux) to reach the main pillar. Make easy but unprotected moves up a slab to the summit of the pillar. This is the easiest way up the pillar.
Location
Start about 25 feet up and right of The Man on the Tor at the base of the N face of the free-standing pillar (Sherlock Spire) that is about 100 feet right of R Baskerville Crack.
Protection
Carry a regular rack. Anchor rope on the summit of the pillar to do a short rappel from.
