Occupied Campsite Rule In Effect! Details

Description

Climbs the center of the steep, mottled face. Sustained, steep moves past the first 2 bolts. Clip the 3rd and run for the top. A tad loose and scary on the upper section.

This route was established with a hand drill on the lead. I attempted several times to drill a fourth bolt, but could never stick long enough to make it happen. Don't fall and/or have a very attentive belayer.

Protection

3 bolts, 1 bolt belay.

I always enjoyed this route at the end of the day. Short, but steep and sustained climbing. A 4th bolt would be nice, but the difficulties are behind you by then. No worries about an occupied campsite here, just a general heads up for routes around Castle Rock. Dec 16, 2010
