FA: Mark Felty and Tod Anderson, 1990s?
Colorado > Morrison/Evergr… > Juniper Pass > Main Slab

Description

This route ascends the right side of what could be an excellent slab climb. This route and its companion, Unknown 1, are unfortunate, because the slab climb that splits the two routes is great and would have been a wonderful addition to the area at a 10+ grade.

Climb the right side of the slab, sometimes laying back the offwidth crack to its right. About 2/3 of the way up, make a sharp turn to the right and follow the bolts through the roof.

Location

This is the second bolted route from the left.

Protection

Bolts.

[Hide Comment] IMO this route, if done on the bolt line, not using the big crack to right, is about 11c. Thin and steep. Using the crack, 10a is about right. Not a bomb - two stars - worth doing. Aug 21, 2011

[Hide Comment] There is a bit of rock that flexes pulling the upper bulge. Sep 22, 2012
[Hide Comment] The shared anchors for this route and Unknown #1 can be reached by hiking around the crag to setup top-rope if you don't want to lead the climbs. You can also hike directly to the anchors, set up a top-rope, and rap to the base. Jul 25, 2013
[Hide Comment] I think that this is an enjoyable, worthwhile climb. As probably intended by the FA, this seemed more difficult than Unknown 1. Sep 8, 2020
