Description

This often overlooked problem is a great way to test your huggy-bear meddle.

Begin low on the fat, blunt arete, and hug your way up using crimps, gastons, slopers, being careful not to scrape your chin on the rock directly in front of your face.

Finish the problem at will, as both sides yield similarly difficult exits.

Location

To the right of the start of the Nemesis Traverse by about 100 feet is a short, squat boulder with a low, sloping roof behind and to the right of it (this roof problem, is a fun problem in and of itself.). The start is on the right side.

[Hide Comment] this was named after the first ascenionist -who i saw send the problem several years ago. I never got his name but he was a professional fish tank cleaner. Funny thing was - he was the second fish tank cleaning climber i've know - first was dale bard at BD who spends years doing this while bumming around cali. Aug 13, 2012
[Hide Comment] Is this the arrete climb on the boulder that leans back to another boulder making a cave with a stream running through it? Climbs up the arrete til your back is right up against the boulder behind you. Jun 21, 2014

[Hide Comment] This is apparently a double post. This is the line also posted on here called Outhouse Arete on the Outhouse boulder. The Kemple guide refers to this climb as the Outhouse Arete. Aug 27, 2017

[Hide Comment] So I scrubbed and chalked up this thing today, looks like it hasn’t been climbed in awhile. Felt like V5 but it was pretty hot up there...

Sam this is not the same as Outhouse arete it’s a short boulder between monkey reflex’s and the outhouse boulder. When you climb this Deep N Nerdy is directly behind you. Jul 9, 2018
[Hide Comment] oh wow I've always wondered what this was, now I know. Bill's description when I asked him was accurate for both this and Outhouse arete lol Jul 9, 2018
