8 bolt (one fixed pin) face up the main buttress (Butterbags Buttress). Located on the right side of the hillside. Excellent. This is the poor man's Loose Lady, but better protected.

Location

On the Butterbags Buttress Area, between Cottonwood and I-10.

Anyone looking for this climb, be aware that the location is nothing like half way between the ranger station and the highway. The parking is less than three miles south of the ranger station. Also be aware that the cliff is invisible from the parking. The cliff is tucked up a side canyon and obvious only when driving north, after having already scouted with binocular every crag visible from every other pull-off along the road (the nature trail was worth a visit, to learn about the peculiar habits of the Palo Verde tree). Also be aware that the "Butterbags Buttress" refers to the entire cliff band, not a single "buttress" and if you negotiate the hike to the base of the obvious, attractive large "buttress" on the top left you will need to hike most of the way back down the hill and start over.... I'm sure it's a fine climb.... :-) Dec 20, 2018
