Gate Buttress Area Recreational Lease: Climbs on Church Buttress above vault remain closed Details

Sit and Spin, the obvious left-leaning handcrack bisecting the face of the Perseverance Wall, is a nice moderate in this newly developed area. Climb the sharp but good handcrack to the crux bulge and pod. Continue up and left through a wide groove to some thin gear and jugs, then more hands to the belay alcove and sling anchor atop FlippinÂ’ the Bird.

Begins to the right of Flippin' the Bird and to the left of Separation Anxiety. The line can be easily seen from almost anywhere up-canyon.

Standard LCC rack to #3 Camalot; #4 Camalot may go in. Sling Anchor.

The FA of this route was served up to me by Shingo Ohkawa, the eyes, brains and heart of "FA Friday." Arigato, Sensei! Apr 30, 2010
