Access Issue: 1. RAIN & WET ROCK 2. DANGER OF EROSION Details

Description

Walking on Eggshells is a long and high quality bolted line on The Egg. Originally the climb was a sketchy 5.11- with loose blocks, however since a rebolting effort in 2018 and lots of cleaning, the climb has begun to tidy up quite nicely. Since the clean-up the route is now considered 5.12a and takes 14 quickdraws to lower-offs.

The route begins a 5.5 slab leading to a thuggy crux sequence into jug hauling and long reaches. A second crux guards the chains, while this crux is much easier (5.10+), the pump while make it feel harder. Regardless of the clean-up efforts one can still manage to pull off small dime-sized rock if you stray to far off route.

Location

Located on the East side of "The Egg" formation. Access from inside the Corridor. Obvious overhanging line. Clearly bolted. Chain anchor to get down from the top.

Protection

14 Bolts to a chain anchor.A longer draw (23cm) on the third bolt in the hueco will help with rope drag.
