Loose Shingles

5.10b, Sport, TR, 45 ft (14 m),  Avg: 2.2 from 41 votes
FA: unknown
Utah > Wasatch Range > Northern Wasatch > Ogden > 29th Street

Description

The book claims this to be a 5.10d, however, I think it is closer to a 5.10b. Fun roof at the beginning of the climb and another near the top. Be sure to wear long pants and a shirt as the roofs are a little harsh on bare skin. The upper roof is a little reachy for smaller folks like myself, but doable (if not pretty).

Location

This is the second to right most climb (right most is not listed on MP) that tackles the lower roof straight on. First bolt is just past the roof with 2 more before the next roof. There is a bolt just over the edge of the second roof, then an easy scramble to the chains at the top.

Protection

4 bolts to chains - top rope accessible from the west side of the crag

[Hide Comment] This is right of 8-ball. Very fun roofs. The first roof is strenuous. The second roof is a bit height dependent. Aug 14, 2012

[Hide Comment] Bolts are well-placed. The crux is pulling the first roof on crimpy, sharp little devil grips that like to camouflage themselves. Recommend warming up on 8 Ball Corner Pocket mountainproject.com/v/8-bal… and having a good look at the roof on the way down. The second roof is pretty reachy for my shorter friends, but the holds are excellent. Sep 7, 2012

[Hide Comment] Super fun! I agree with others … first roof is the crux and it is really cool! Had a great time on this route. May 3, 2019
