Mack's Traverse

V2+, Boulder, 25 ft,  Avg: 2.6 from 106 votes
FA: Mack Johnson
Rhode Island > Lincoln Woods > Warm Up Area ak… > Mack's traverse

Fun traverse  - Starting on the right go left, staying off the lip, until you can get a kneebar and a shake around the left end. That's one lap. Now head back right for another if you can.

[Hide Comment] Fun, but the feet through the middle section really make this hard. They are just a little bit too high/small to make the crimps/jugs feel good. Apr 15, 2010
[Hide Comment] a fun traverse right to left

there is a good kneebar at the left end for those who want to shake it out then traverse back to the right for an extra challenge(probably v3) May 11, 2010

[Hide Comment] Classic, though a little sharp on the hands even after soooo many years of being climbed.
Mark/Joe, what is the record for the number of laps (back and forth) done in a single go? Somehow the number 13 rings a bell. I think PeterM once did 12. Jan 25, 2012

[Hide Comment] I was trying to remember what my record was, but for some reason it is not coming to me ;). Pete doing 12 or 13 sounds possible though. When completely wired it is almost more of when your skin wears off then pumping out. Jan 25, 2012
[Hide Comment] I don't remember the # but Pete defintely has the record... Jan 26, 2012

[Hide Comment] This really is a classic. Lots of varied, delicate movements, and like someone said there are parts of this traverse where the feet are just SO damn tricky!!! Dec 22, 2013

[Hide Comment] It's cool to see people enjoying a route for so many years. I passed through in 2003 and did it again. It had been raining so I really piled the chalk up! Jun 26, 2017
[Hide Comment] numerous broken feet, and a few fractured hand holds have added to the challenge and pain factor, but still an old school classic! Jun 26, 2017

[Hide Comment] Definitely harder than The Wave. The feet are good, just gotta work the sequence. Feb 6, 2019
