DescriptionThis is right at the base of Dingmans Falls and is fun to play around on when your taking pictures of your friends climbing on Dingmans Falls. This forms from some ground seapage and is reliable. Go all the way to the end of the board walk where there is an observation deck and climb over the railing. You cant miss it. Climb up the bullet proof ice up trough Rhododendrons where you will reach the board walk leading up to the top of Dingmans Falls.
LocationFrom Dingmans Ferry ( Intersection of PA-739 and US-209) go south on US-209 for 0.2 miles. Turn right onto Johnny Bee Mountain Road. From here the road forks, go left at the fork and travel another 0.5 miles from to the visitor center. This is considered to be the access road. This road maybe closed from time to time in the winter. If it is you just have to park at the gate and walk up the access road 0.5 miles to the visitor center.
From the visitor center head right and you will see a board walk path leading into the forest. Silverthread Falls will be the first water fall you come to. Keep on going until you reach Dingmans falls. The board walk branches off to the left which will take up an ungodly amount of steps to the top of the waterfall. Keep going to the end of the board walk and Dingmans Drip will be on your left.
To see if the access road is open you can call 570-588-2435. They will be able to tell you if it is open and if people have been climbing there.
