Description

This is an ok but kind of contrived route on the left side of the left Hideout. Climb past 2 bolts to a ledge. Climb up and right using a crack while clipping a couple bolts. Instead of staying with the crack, pull to the left on slopers and get situated above a bulge. This will feel a bit unnatural but is kind of fun. A little bit more fun climbing to a mantle that takes you to the hidden anchors.

Location

The Hideout can be split into two pieces, the left and the right. This route is on the far left side of the left Hideout.

Protection

Take 8 or 10 draws, that should do it.

Per Mark Rolofson: there are 6 bolts and a 2 bolt anchor.

First ascent: Mark Rolofson & Vaino Kodas on February 10, 2004. 2003 date in my guidebook is a typo error. I have never thought of this route as contrived, even though it would be possible to continue climbing up right on the diagonal crack. This would be a different route, require gear & end at a different spot. After clipping the 2nd bolt above the ledge (4 bolt on the climb), I bust out left & ascend the face. Fun climbing on good rock. There are 6 bolts / 2 bolt anchor. Jul 16, 2017
