Description

Step off to the right from the exposed platform/trail and head up, passing a couple of horizontal cracks enroute. Trend slightly to the left of the prow into the shallow open book and finish to the top on weaknesses to the right of the looming roofy finger of rock.

Steep and interesting climbing.

Location

Route is in the Lionel Terray sector on the left side of the NW facing Massif du Parapluie. Start is near the "J.F." graffiti. To the left of "La Plage" graffiti and the crack line of Lionel Terray.

Where the trail travels from beneath the base of the cliff, up stairs directly away from the rock face, look for a rock prow above "J.F."

Protection

10 quickdraws.

Bolted anchor on top of route.

Maybe 30 feet up J.F., just before the ledge that leads to the crux with the loose block (May 2022).

The start of J.F. "J.F." painted on the rock can be seen below her feet. The initial crack of La Plage Left can just be seen to the right of her feet.

[Hide Comment] A key jug has is loose and is marked with an X. Recommend not using it. The climb is still possible without it by looking for holds further to the right. Grade might be harder as a result.

There is also an awkward move after this and a bit of a runout near the top which is uncharacteristic of the area. The runout is on easy moves though. Jul 31, 2020
