Description

Climb the wide crack system just left of the West Bench Dihedral using large holds and several no hands rests. Top-out onto the Amphitheater express trail and walk off.

Protection

Standard rack with several slings to build an anchor at the top.

Per Matt Bentley: this route can be top-roped from the same TR position for the West Bench Dihedral. There's a great big flake at the top that makes a great anchor. It's helpful to have a cordelette and a few slings.

This route is pretty uninteresting. It feels a lot like you are climbing a ladder, and it's pretty boring for anyone who has climbed outside before or has even mild experience. I would suggest The Slot as an alternative that is pretty casual but has fun moves and interesting rock.

This may be a good place to take kids very early on in outdoor climbing, or those brand new to climbing. Mar 5, 2017
