RAIN AND WET ROCK The sandstone in Red Rocks is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. Details

Description

Fun easy climbing, and relatively steep for a 5.5.

Starts below a short right-leaning hand and follows the seam up climbing on large flakey face holds. Route may clean up nicely, but until then make sure your belayer is wearing a helmet and is not directly below climber.

Location

North side of Yin and Yang Area (Atman Crag)

Descent: downclimb easy 4th/5th class chimney; or continue scrambling up and over to the easy standard walk off on south side. Less confident climbers may want to be roped up for chimney downclimb and/or scramble to the top.

Protection

small nuts to hand-sized cams, plus optional runners to tie off large chicken-heads. gear anchor.
