Eclipse

V8, Boulder, 10 ft (3 m),  Avg: 3.6 from 36 votes
FA: Matt Pearlman or Colin Cox?
Arizona > Central Arizona > *Prescott Area > Prescott Boulde… > Senator’s Highw… > Groom Creek > Main Boulders > Moonstone, Leg Lock R…

Description

Just left of the classic Moonstone. Fantastic moves! Start practically lying down with a good flake for the left hand, a crimp for the right, and a left heel hook; make hard moves to a left undercling with thumb catch, then fall into a right sidepull and throw to the lip. The original line here was Leapfrog (V1) which started on the lip by stepping off the boulder behind.

Location

On the Moonstone Boulder just left of the Moonstone.

Protection

Two pads are ideal.

[Hide Comment] Just a reference point that New Moon rings in around V9/10 and is the link up between eclipse and moonstone, starting on eclipse and making a very hard crux jump over to Moonstone and finishing up the rest of moon. Jun 14, 2015

Shortie beta (5'5", +3). One of my favorite boulders anywhere. V9 feels a little too generous, but it's definitely one of the harder 8s I've done. Jun 9, 2022
