"Black Tide" ascends the prominent black water streak on the right side of the Left Flank, between "B-line" and "Espresso." Positive holds lead to a lower angle section at mid-height. Pockets and small edges on the steep black flake lead to a horizontal and stemming to reach the 2-ring Fixe anchor on the right wall.

12 bolts & 2-ring Fixe anchor (camouflaged black)

60m rope is long enough. The holds on the right have loose rock - check what you’re grabbing on to. 5 days ago

Lets up through the middle of the route, but the final stemming sequence feels exposed and exciting. Apr 2, 2016

Don't miss that last bolt on the opposing wall above your head. The first time I climbed it I almost didn't see it. Mar 29, 2014

This route is sickkkk i felt like a total badass making that last clip. threading through the rings at the top can be scary but its fun. Make sure to bring a sling! Feb 24, 2014

Some guidebooks? What guidebook is this climb in, other than on and Mountain Project? Both state that "Black Tide" has 12 bolts & a 2-ring Fixe anchor. Feb 7, 2013

some guide books say this route is only 11 bolts. The route is 12 bolts with 2 ring anchors at the top. Make sure you bring enough equipment Jan 16, 2013
Nice long, moderate climb with lots of variation. Loose stuff is cleaning up with increased traffic. Stick to the face & flake for more fun factor. Crawling into the corner facing the wrong direction makes clipping the last bolt and anchor extremely awkward when it doesn't have to be. Mar 9, 2012

Can be wet near the top after a rain. One should watch out for loose rock on this route. Mar 21, 2010
