Gate Buttress Area Recreational Lease: Climbs on Church Buttress above vault remain closed Details

Description

Large arete with quarry work on the left side for holds up to a shot hole out right then up to the top.

Location

Park just up the canyon from the LDS archive road.
Take the trail up the hill as if you are headed up to Lizard Head wall. As you follow the cairns soon you will come out of the trees and see this boulder up to your right in the gully.

Protection

Bring a BIG pad. There is a good constructed landing, but if you blew it up high you're probably going to get hurt.

Nice Work Tom, too bad I wasn't around to catch any of your monster falls. Apr 5, 2010

I remember a photo of LCC Lou climbing this thing from at least 3 years ago and Lou never said it was an FA. Nice job repeating it, pretty tall and scary. Sep 29, 2009
I'm pretty sure these problems were done in the 90's and then again this spring by Steven Jeffrey. sorry. Sep 26, 2009
