Nice little trad climb right across the way from End Pin for those with a short time to climb.

At the very start of the trail one would take to get to PoDunk Pinnicle and directly left (north) of End Pin. Maybe 20 feet from End Pin.

Small nuts, small cams, aliens, TCU's maybe the occasional medium sized cam. The crack does get a bit bigger as you get higher off the ground so a size four cam might be appropriate, but not entirely necessary.

Or is it missing Malaysian Flight 370? I think this is the flight you are talking about Brent, right? Jun 17, 2017

Okay go try to find "Flight 714". Paul Muehl and I came to the conclusion that the route in question is in fact "Flight 714" as there are no other obvious options there that remotely fit the description. It is possible that 30' downhill could be 30' across from End Pin. None the less Paul was confident that the route in question was "Flight 714". In the end it is possible that it was originally written down wrong as the FA party was non local. Nov 29, 2011
Touch the Sky also says that Flight 714 is 30 feet past End Pin (towards Podunk Pinnacle.) The description of Endo (5.8) says the obvious crack on the NW corner. (The crack just around the corner to climber's right of Tunes.)

Judging by Brent Larsen's rating and description, I believe the route this page refers to is the easier crack closer to the road, Endo, although I could be wrong.

Either way, the FA info is incorrect. Nov 28, 2011

Okay here we go again... According the Description in Paul Piana's "Touch the Sky" 1983, a route exists named "Flight 714" 5.10+ on "High Point" listed on page 151. F.A. Rufus Miller and Jon Holleb, Aug. 21, 1980.

The description in "Touch the Sky" mentions a very thin flaring crack facing End Pin about 30' away. I climbed this route with Paul Muehl in 1983 and we thought it was 5.9+. Many people have claimed the first ascent of this route and the route "Bush Whacker" 5.7 across the gully from "Split Pin". "Bush Wahcker" is listed on page 153 in "Touch the Sky". I most recently heard Tater Tot was in on the FA of "Bush Whacker" despite his not being born yet in 1979.

In the end I'm 99.9% positive this route is "Flight 714". I went out and climbed it this past summer. It is a cleaner than back in the 1980's and felt like an easier 5.9. Nov 28, 2011
I believe this crack is directly East of End Pin, North would be toward the road.

This crack is called Endo. FA: Jim Black and Pete Delannoy, June 14, 1986. Nov 28, 2011
