Hopped on today for the first time in a year and can confirm that the start is quite a bit more difficult for me now that the starting foot broke off. RIP. Jun 28, 2016

Supposedly, yesterday up in the park the large starting foot on this broke leaving behind a less usable and awkward facing new starting foot. Makes the first move out left to the first crimp more difficult. Hardest 8 in the world for real now? Maybe. Jul 19, 2015

Super fun problem. Short and powerful.

GB Arete starts from a sit, with an obvious righthand blocky pinch and a small lefthand sidepull. Not sure about the "two easy compression moves." This is the hardest V8 in the world. Jun 19, 2010
