Description

Halloween I set out to White's planning on easy climbing on the far left side but it was wet. Right of there are sandwiched long stacked rocks in a crack 15 ft above ground and these rocks block my view. I went to see up beyond the steep wall by secure hands and feet (5.8) up the stacked rocks. Going up and up reasonably committed on more chock stones and it became unlikely I could down climb it. Crack ended up with a step out to a rest limbs ledge. What a treat and for my next trick next 15 feet of friction death faced crux (5.8) face to a pine tree too big for my arms to get around I desperately got over that. After the tree scared the wits out of me for a while. Glad alive higher up got a body anchored in rested and recreated. Finished Endeavor's toe crack then summit. It turned out to be a great adventure. Climb's on safe rock but doesn't look like it. The friction face should be bolted.

Location

Walk along base of cliff, the body length flake filled chimney is on the west side of the main face. You'd have too be blind to miss it looking up at the frightening flakes. Hike down Stanton Mt. trail east to the parking lot.

Protection

none, free solo
