Description

I remember Dobbe and I doing this a long time ago. I believe the start was an undercling.

If you know how to hand jam, the finish will be a lot easier. :) Jul 26, 2017

A fun variation is to skip the "Shark's fin" and balance directly from the underclings around the corner, finishing up the slab. Feels about the same grade. Sep 18, 2016

I climbed this again yesterday, more like V2 but pretty fun. Sep 10, 2011

Great problem. Let's get a name for this one too. I vote for "Shark's Fin Arete" Oct 1, 2009

Worked this problem the same way Paul did. I agree, not V4-5, but probably one of my favorite problems of the trip. The body tension needed while smearing to grab that "chicken head" made it crazy fun. Sep 26, 2009

Ok, I did a sit-start and pulled into the fingertips undercling. Moved out right to the "sharks fin" And worked my way up using the big chicken head above the the fin. I don't think I can climb V4-5 at the lake but it did take more then a few tries. Sep 17, 2009
Climbed this route with a sds using underclings andthen working the big "Shark Fin" as we called it. finished on the arete for the top out. fun moves along that big fin really forces body tension and good static moves. Sep 9, 2009
