Description

Climb the blunt arete on the western most side of the south end of Gilligan's Island.

Start with you left hand in a good jug and you right on a small sloping crimp that has a crystal for your little finger. Toss up with your right to a bad sloper then get a heel hook up and right. Now you began the desperate journey to the top slapping and crimping small pebbles to higher but easier ground.

This is a great line!! It is a must do in the area!!

Location

It is located on the south end of Gilligan's Island. When the trail from the parking lot splits, go left or west passing the "20 ft. Wave" block and the "Ship's Prow" boulder. Just west, about 20 yards, past the "Ship's Prow" boulder you can see this blunt arete just barely covered by high tree limbs. You can see it from the trail, and it is hard to miss.

Protection

Pads and spotters.

What I believe to be the starting holds. Left hand on the top which has the pinky crystal mentioned in the description, right hand on the slopey jug.

[Hide Comment] Edit: Justin has posted a photo of the correct starting holds.

Is the start hold description for this problem reversed? That is, should it be start with left hand in jug and right hand on a sloping crimp?

What I had in mind, but possibly starting a move in, or maybe I'm doing the problem entirely wrong. Fun this way regardless.

[Hide Comment] Geez, Matth, you're right. I did mix up the starting holds. Your beta is how I started it. LH jug - RH small, sloping crimp. May 17, 2020
