Description

This variation on True Dice allows for a safer beginning. Start up Boulderado for the first three bolts, slinging them all long, with a double runner on the third. Move right on large buckets to the base of the crack and continue up the rest of True Dice.

There is gear at selected intervals, and a tough to protect section just before the top.

Location

Walk off climber's right.

Protection

Regular rack.

[Hide Comment] Often over looked but this is a super fun clean line. The thin crack takes excellent pro and the traverse is much easier then it looks. Makes sure to bring a long sling for the third bolt to cut down on rope drag or double ropes. Dec 6, 2013

[Hide Comment] Underrated climb! Very technical with a variety of thin hands, finger locks, liebacks and face moves.Traverse is fun and easy and no rope drag necessary with long enough slings on the third bolt. Didn't place anything bigger than .75, although I did use #2 and #3 for an anchor. Guidebook said 10b, MP says 10-, I'm inclined to split the difference as while maybe not as pumpy as the cruxes on bird of fire or exorcist, the sustained thin technical moves I feel warrants 10a. Definitely more difficult than crux sequences on bird on a wire. Nov 17, 2019

[Hide Comment] Really really enjoyed this route, and IMO stands up to the other classics on the wall. It protects well with small to medium cams and a set of stoppers. A yellow Totem felt solid in the upper, tough to protect, section up high. Apr 14, 2024
