Details
2024. Update: Nesting peregrine falcons have been confirmed on the right (southeast) side of Shagg Crag.
To help ensure a successful breeding season climbers are being asked not to climb on the Rhino Boulder, routes to the right of "Block Buster“, or proceed on foot beyond this point. Please contact Dr. Erynn Call, MDIFW State Raptor Specialist with any questions: erynn.call@maine.gov.

Description
Great climb! A little scarier than it is hard. Technical I think by Shagg standards. Climb the start of Great Escape, then instead of "escaping" to Great Escapes" anchors (hence the name) continue straight up then veer left through techy and exposed moves to the crux. Fun Climbing! The "ORIGINAL" line BTW.
[NOTE: Name changed to "Shagg Zag" 5/27/20 to conform with original name and current guidebooks. R Hall ME Admin. ]
