Description

Cool 5.11 moves up into an inside corner. Once in the corner it's easy (5.8) stemming, hand jams and some face moves up to a ledge. Moderate (5.9+) face climbing to the top.

Two bolt (spinners) anchor with a backup over the lip.

Location

Inside corner on left side of California Ridge. Between California Five-Eleven A and Ayatollah.

I did the first free ascent of Access Denied sometime in 1990. However, someone had aided it and left and old star drive bolt near the bottom of the dihedral years and years ago. You could see that they'd driven pins in the back of the crack too. Who, what, when, where, how? I'd guess it was aided during the late 50s or early 1960s. Anyone know? Jul 26, 2014
