Access Issue: Approach Crosses Private Land
Details
The 1st part of the approach is via a 2-track road on private land, please respect the private land, stay on the road, clean up after yourself. No camping is allowed on the private property. Please reach out to the Helena Climbers Coalition if you have any questions or concerns.
Description
Dos Amigos is a great, easy, two pitch sport climb. The first pitch climbs a slabby face up to a great belay ledge for approximately sixty feet. The second pitch is excellent, with interesting rock leading to the top, about eighty feet.
Location
Dos Amigos is situated at the northeast corner of the Main Buttress. It is possible to walk off the route. Otherwise, make two single rope rappels using the same anchors as on the way up.
Protection
The entire route is bolted, including anchors at the top of both pitches. If you would prefer to walk off the top, the location of the anchor is somewhat inconvenient. In this case, bring a few hand sized cams and climb past the anchor. There is a good crack that drops into the rock beneath your feet. This crack is located a few feet back from the top edge of the cliff. An anchor to bring up the second can be easily built here. Otherwise, just rappel the route.
