Description

Crack to the right of the Boulder cave. Start up the detached block to the overhanging crack. Continue up healthy hand jams to an easily layback. Climb the middle of the upper face with small protection and top out.

Protection

Standard trad rack'll do.

This is a fun route that has particularly challenging sections at the start and finish with a few good spots to rest along the way that probably bring down the difficulty rating. You've really got to find the right holds in the challenging sections or you can burn yourself out. For our anchors we chose two trees about 15-20 ft back from the cliff edge. One looked like it had been cut down before but the tree kept growing. For it's thick stump and plenty of half-dollar-thick branches arraying out of it we chose that for our backup and a fairly sturdy tree to the left of it (if facing the ciff) for our primary anchor. I thought this was a 5.9 route. The slight overhanging crack through the beginning is pumpy! And the crimps and slopers up top need some thought also especially since that face is hard to protect. Aug 18, 2013
