Description

This route is much better than it looks from the ground. It has a bouldery crux leaving the ledge by the 4th bolt. The hardest move is the 5th clip. It is much easier to skip the clip and go for the jug, but if you miss, you will hit the ledge. There is another hard move after that jug. Well bolted, even has one last bolt to protect the mantle to the anchor.

Location

This is the bolted route to the left of Five to One and Nine to Five (both good warm ups for this one).

Protection

8 draws and something for the anchor.

[Hide Comment] I rated this climb 5.12a after making the first ascent. The day that I bolted the route, I failed to redpoint it pulling over the lip of the overhanging face. It was a very warm day. The next day, I returned and sent the climb on my first try. The temps were definitely better. There are two cruxes in a row. The first on the overhanging face, and the redpoint crux pulling over the lip. Most of the climb is relatively easy but enjoyable. I did repeat the climb in 2008 but have never returned since. Perhaps .11d is the correct grade. If you think it's harder, don't be surprised. Jan 28, 2024
