We ran up this one March 13th, hoping to avoid the scramble to the upper pond and get in an extra climb at the same time. Extremely stiff for a 5.9 and has likely lost many solid holds over time. If you must climb this route, be sure you feel comfortable leading in the 10b-11a range. The crux is somewhere around the fourth bolt where hands and feet are very limited. Some chauce, peeled off a small flake but took no falls. The chains are too low to safely scramble out. At the route's anchors, clip in and set up a top belay station for your partner and have them lead 10-15 feet over a decent nose and slab to the rappel chains (exactly like a 2 pitch sport climb). There you can safely scramble/walk to the upper pond routes. Mar 14, 2017
