Green Energy Traverse

V4, Boulder, 25 ft (8 m),  Avg: 2.8 from 14 votes
FA: Doug Rouse
Colorado > Morrison/Evergr… > Morrison Boulders > Mezzanine

Description

Green Energy is immediately obvious as you walk onto the tier up from a large Juniper tree. The line crosses an overhanging wall from right to left, and requires attention to body tension.

Location

Start in a scoop about 3' off the ground under a bulging overhang. Move across the wall ( R-to-L ) without deviating from the starting level/line of holds. Several long reaches move past a sloping ramp to finish up and left of a boulder that forms the west end of the alcove. There are a few "straight-up" problems that start at various points along the traverse, and it is quite easy to spend the majority of a session in the area.

Protection

Pad optional.

[Hide Comment] This is a really awesome line. Were it not a little contrived, it would definitely be a four star route. It might be a little soft, but it is hard to tell. Apr 4, 2009

[Hide Comment] A fun way to finish is " Sub-atomic " (see photo..L.hand goes up and left to the top, and up Right w/ R.hand etc...). Sep 26, 2009
