Start up some slopers to a hard mantle move. Make a balancy move to some crimpers to the right of the arete and then finish up on a broken crack. Not to much protection, much better as a top rope. You can walk around to the left and scramble up some 4th class to top rope.

When you first walk up, UNR crack will be right infront of your face. This climb is to the left and is on the arete.

How about the finger crack start to the left of the flake? I did that start and avoided the flake completely and the arete mostly, it was fun and felt a lot harder.

The mantle start is for sure fun though...

I dig this climb... Apr 29, 2011

I think your right about the name. The old Ron Anderson book also shows a bolt right above the mantle move. I guess it has been removed since 91. Mar 14, 2009

I think the name of this route is "Just to Watch Him Die". It runs up the far-left side of the face that lies to the left of the UNR crack. The mantle is tough (very thin), but if you have the reach, you can use the arete on the left. That makes it well below 10d though (9-10a I'd say). After this, it eases up somewhat. Mar 13, 2009
