Description
Drainpipe... the name says it all. This is a mostly hands crack with a thinner start choked with grass that opens up to big hands and wider as the angle eases.
5.8 is the grade given in Carville, however, I found the low crux (pulling on grassy hummocks with no gear in) to be rather gripping. I had been hoping for a nice warm up for Aja, instead I found myself drenched in sweat. Also, be aware there is no good anchor for this climb, I sat behind a small boulder, stanced it, and told Zeke he'd better not fall.
I'm giving it one star... because it might be ok if the grass were dug out of the crack.
Location
Right side of the left wall (same wall aja is on) left of aja, colors and over the rainbow.
Protection
standard rack up to #4 camalot plus trowel and rototiller.
